Lyle Scott Jenkins




Lyle Scott Jenkins, 58, of Bringhurst, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at his home.

He was born April 17, 1956, in Frankfort, the son of Charles E. and Betty J. Ruegamer Jenkins. He was a 1974 graduate of Carroll High School. On April 9, 1983, he married Cheryl A. Faucett; she preceded him in death on Nov. 24, 2001.

Scott worked at Quality Die Set as a machine operator, Sayco Co., and as a carpenter.

He was Scout Master of Troop 144 in Flora and Eagle Scout. Scott was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed cooking on a campfire; he was an all-around outdoorsman.

Surviving are two sons, Tyler Jenkins and Brent Jenkins; four brothers, Jimmie Jenkins, Charles Jenkins, Lenard Robison, and Patrick (Carol) Robison; three sisters, Peg (Ed) Matthews, Karen (John) Whitfield, and Leanne (Ron) Brower; three sistersin law, Sandy Jenkins, Wilda Jenkins, and Ann Jenkins; brother-in-law, Don Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Scott is preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, Robert Jenkins, Richard Jenkins, Ronald Jenkins, Kenneth Jenkins, Thomas Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins, Neal Jenkins, and Michael Robison; and one sister, Jane Johnson.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, Oct. 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Scout Cabin in Flora Community Park. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.

Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora.
