Theme Thursday presents “Family Vacation Day’ June 23. Staff and patrons are encouraged to wear their fanny packs, matching family tee shirts and all things vacationoriented. A vacation selfie station (with props) will be available. Contact Angela or Carol at dplibrary@delphilibrary.org.

An ocean-themed Teen Movie for grades 6 to 12 will be shown June 23 at 5 p.m. in the program room. Ask a library staff member for the title. Snacks will be provided. Send questions to johnsonc@delphilibrary.org.

Friday Morning Book Club will be June 24 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Participants are reading “All These Beautiful Strangers” by Elizabeth Klehfoth. Books are available electronically or at the circulation desk.

‘Craft Corner for Adults’ presents wire-wrapped sea glass rings June 27 from 3 to 4 p.m. in the program room. Registration is required.

The summer reading program for adults will present three Indiana Humanities White River films – “Braided with the Current, Onward Ever,” “The Becoming of Indiana’s White River” and “White River Perspectives” June 28 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Discussion will follow and snacks will be provided.

Flora-Monroe Public

It’s Titanic Week at the Flora-Monroe Township Public Library! Come see all the interactive displays throughout the library. Try on period costumes, see the timeline, choose a boarding pass and ticket of a passenger to find out their story and see if they survived the disaster. Choose a meal depending on what class passenger you are. See the miniature rooms of the ship itself. See if you can lower a lifeboat. Discover the details of the most famous shipwreck in modern history. Learn more about the Titanic through books available to check out from the library’s collection. (A special thanks to Kimberly Stoddard for compiling such an extensive exhibit for the community.)

On a sunny afternoon, a group is sailing the Caribbean Sea. Suddenly, a storm rolls in and the boat is swept onto a deserted island. While searching for any sign of life a shipwreck appears. The group has 60 minutes to escape using clues and working together to solve the mystery. Teens can try their luck in the Shipwreck Escape Room on Thursday, June 23, at 4:30 p.m. Teen Club is for teens through grade 12.

There are so many possibilities in the ocean to explore this summer including the myth of the Merpeople. Or is it a myth? The library will host a mermaid from the Indy Dive Center on Tuesday, June 28, at 2 p.m. She will do a mermaid storytime for children, followed by a short talk about good water stewardship, and then there will be photo opportunities with the mermaid.

It’s time for America’s birthday party! Come celebrate the 4th of July at storytime. Miss Cathy will have patriotic stories, a fun surprise, and a parade all while learning about the beginning of this country. Lil’ Readers Patriotic Fun Storytime is on Wednesday, June 29, at 10:30 a.m.
