County rail history is sought




Mark A. Smith, county historian and coordinator of the Carroll County Historical Museum, is doing a field study on the railroads in Carroll County.

He is seeking information relating to the rails, along with information on the agents who served in the depots of the Pennsylvania, Monon, and Wabash rail lines and those who have been caught on the Monon High Bridge during train travel.

Smith asks that participants provide the following information: 1) Their name 2) Address 3) Phone Number 4) E-mail (if available) 5) Date of submission 6) Date of the rail-related event being submitted 7) People involved 8) Location, i.e. town or area 9) Rail system involved

With Flora’s depot restoration project under way, railroad stories with a Flora connection are of particular interest to that committee.
