Bringhurst man killed in crash near Cutler

A Bringhurst man was fatally injured in a single vehicle crash on CR500S., just west of CR50E., near Cutler on Feb. 19. Kameron Casto, 30, of Bringhurst, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Devin Tabor of Cutler, who is still hospitalized. Others in the vehicle included Christa Marvin, 21, and Kaleb Tabor. Marvin is still receiving medical care at a Ft. Wayne medical facility. Kaleb Tabor has been released.

Carroll County E-911 received an emergency call about the crash at approximately 5:30 p.m. When responders arrived, three injured subjects were located outside of the vehicle, a 2007 white Dodge Ram truck. Casto was found in the truck and pronounced deceased at the scene.

Excessive speed and alcohol may be contributing factors in the crash, according to a press release from Carroll County Sheriff Tony Liggett.

Assisting agencies include the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Flora Police Department, the Indiana State Police crash reconstruction, the Cutler Fire Department, the Flora Fire Department, Carroll County Emergency Medical Services and Emergency Management Agency, the Lutheran Air Ambulance and the Carroll County Coroner’s Office.
