Tree clearing along Oxbow trail Volunteers from the Wildcat Guardians and Wildcat Creek Foundation cleared trees recently along the new perimeter trail at the Adams Mill Oxbow Natural Area along Wildcat Creek near Cutler. They are following a plan developed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources to restore 50 acres of field and woods to a condition resembling the natural presettlement setting of 200 years ago. The plan calls for the removal of invasive, nonnative trees that have made inroads into the woods along the edge of the field. Recently much of the field was planted in a large variety of young native trees. The perimeter trail around the old field will be open to the public for the Celebrate Wildcat Creek festival June 6.
