James E. Walker

James Everett “Jim” Walker, 85, Burlington, passed away at 3:18 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.

He was born Dec. 8, 1933, in Salem, Ind., the son of David and America (Carpenter) Walker On Aug. 20, 1955, he married Betty Foust, who survives.

Jim retired from Chrysler Corp. in 1997. He was a member of Kokomo Kiwanis Club, Burlington Township Board, and Burlington Cemetery Board. He joined the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department in 2001.

Jim enjoyed woodworking.

Surviving with his wife are his children, James B. Walker, Steven B. Walker (Tammy K.), Julie A. Clingaman (John), and William P. Walker; grandchildren, Mathew J. Walker (Emily), Jessica Collier (Bill), Jacob R. Walker, Elise A. Walker, Casey Glassburn, Levi Glassburn, Erin Walker, and Kylie Goode; great-grandchildren, Max, Jaden, and Geneva; brother, Jack Walker (Dee); and four half-siblings.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mike Walker; and two brothers.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, 44 Michigan Road, Burlington, with Mark Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Burlington Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at the funeral home.
