The Monthly Movie Time is offered at 10 a.m. on the first Saturday of every month. Participants may check in at the front circulation desk for further details or call (765) 201- 4745 during normal hours of operation. The Monthly Movie Time schedule for 2019 is: Feb. 2, March 2, April 6, May 4, June 1, July 6, Aug. 3, Sept. 7, Oct. 5, Nov. 2, Dec. 7.

Story Time with Nancy is held the second Thursday of every month. The next program will take place Jan. 10 at 4 p.m.

“Evening Book Club” will kick off a year of reading about strong, imperfect, fully realized women acting unexpectedly, with “Difficult Women” by Roxane Gay Jan. 9 at 6:30 p.m.

“Family Craft Night” will be Jan. 15 from 6 to 7 p.m. All ages are welcome to take a break from the cold to create a pair of cozy, no-sew hand warmers. Reservations are requested.

“Imagination” is the theme for this week’s story hours. Story Hour at the Northwest Carroll Library in Yeoman will be Jan. 15 at 10:30 a.m. Story Time at the Delphi Public Library will be Jan. 17 with Baby Lapsit at 9:30 a.m., Toddler Time at 10 and Pre- School stories at 11.

The after school “The World Below” class, to learn about plate tectonics by playing with food, will be Jan. 16 from 3 to 4 p.m. The handson geology lesson program is for students in first-grade through eighth-grade.

A multi-cooker class, to learn how to operate the all-in-one kitchen devices which function as a slow-cooker, pressure cooker and other appliances and to enjoy recipes made in them will be Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. Registration required.

Flora-Monroe Public

Between the holidays and the spring thaw stretches a period of dark nights and cold days that may be the best time of year to read. The library promotes a reading program for adult readers to add a little fun to the cold, dreary days of winter. The Cool Reads winter reading club will begin Jan. 22.

The children’s book and library surplus furniture sale continues through this week. The proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Flora Library.

The library is appreciative of the Community Youth Center in downtown Flora for hosting Dungeons and Dragons group during the book sale. The DandD group (ages 12 and up) will meet Friday at 4 p.m. Social time begins at 3:30. For more information, call the library at (574) 967- 3912.

A movie is on slate for the Teen Advisory Board meeting on Jan. 14. The film is “Mulan,” a Disney classic featuring a teen heroine. The T.A.B. movie begins at 6:30 p.m. for teens in grades 7 through 12.

Bring kids to see the newly renovated children’s library while enjoying a mitten themed storytime on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 10:30 a.m. Miss Cathy will have stories about staying warm while playing outside in the cold.
