Purdue Extension to host open house November 10

The Carroll County Extension Service will host an open house Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Event & Education Center in Flora. A free sausage gravy and biscuit breakfast will be provided before attendees view various Extension programs.

Those in attendance will be able to try out 4-H projects and meet Junior Leaders and Leaders who demonstrate them. Demonstrated projects include: • Science - Let’s Make Slime; • How to get rid of germs; • Sewing – make a gift bag; • Lego’s®; • Rabbits - Learn how easy it is to show a rabbit; • Foods and Health - How long will it take to walk off Thanksgiving Dinner; • Decorate cupcakes; and • Other projects.

Homemakers Clubs will demonstrate how to Zentangle on Holiday Cards and explain dining with diabetes and being “Heart Smart.”

Attendees will be able to view various Extension Homemakers programs and meet the Nutrition Education Program Assistant, Pat Burkhalter.

Students will be able to register for 4-H as well.
