Mary M. Meek-Fox

Mary Margaret “Tom” Meek- Fox, 91, of Flora, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville.

Born Oct. 23, 1926, in Deer Creek, Tom was the daughter of Robert and Elva (Stephens) Dillon. She was a 1944 graduate of Deer Creek High School. She married Joe Meek, who preceded her in death. She later married Ben Fox and he, too, preceded her in death.

Tom worked for 37 years at Sayco in Flora.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Lower Deer Creek Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed oil painting on china and gourds and working in her flower garden. Tom never met a stranger.

Surviving are her children, Judy Peoples (Howard) of Battle Ground, Mary Jo Redmon (Joe) of Flora, Jerry Meek (Angela) of Lafayette, James Meek (Maryjo) of Delphi, and Jill Meek (Ken Coddington) of Flora; a brother, Ben Dillon of Deer Creek; a sister, Barbara Duckworth of Fort Worth, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert and Jim Dillon; and sisters, Marge Lesh, Shirley Smith and Roberta Martin.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at the Lower Deer Creek Church of the Brethren with Pastors Bruce and Cindy Dunk officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 11, from 5-8 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.
