Four wins in a row and Delphi is off to its best start in over 24 years. The Oracles hosted the South Newton Rebels on Friday night and laid a 37-0 beat down on the opposition.

Total offense of 343 yards and the Oracles did it in every way possible. Beginning the game with three scores in the opening first quarter, Peyton Roth returned the opening kickoff for 98 yards while Blake Carroll received a 38- yard pass from Seth Waters for the ensuing score. A 34- yard run by Aaron Webb capped the first quarter as Delphi led 24-0 going into the second quarter.

Two more scores in the second half - a 1-yard rushing touchdown by Webb and a 71- yard reception by Carroll - put the finishing touches on the Oracle win. Delphi went scoreless for the remainder of the game but put the clamp on the opposition by only allowing 94 yards of total offense, including just 7 first downs for the Rebels. The Oracles’ stout defense also forced South Newton into 3 turnovers as they fumbled once and threw 2 interceptions.

Waters led in yards passing with 187 and 2 touchdowns followed by Webb’s 100 yards rushing along with 2 TDs. Carroll accounted for 125 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns.

The Oracles will look to continue their perfect season on Friday when they travel to Tri Central for a 7 o’clock p.m. start.
