Charlene Maxwell

Charlene K. Moore Maxwell, 57, Delphi, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at her home after a long battle with cancer.

She was born Oct. 16, 1960, in Lafayette, to the late Charles and Ina Mabel Vaughan Moore. She was a 1979 graduate of Delphi Community High School. On June 11, 1988, she married James D. “Jim” Maxwell at their home, and he survives.

Charlene worked for 30 years at the former Peters- Revington Furniture Factory in Delphi, then at Wabash National in Lafayette for three and a half years, at Ball Corp. in Monticello for one year, and at Deer Creek Enterprises for three years.

She was a member of the Draft Horse Club, and helped her sisters with their business, Moore Carriage Rides. She and her family enjoyed camping.

Charlene loved photography and taking pictures. She also enjoyed 5K runs/walks with her family and loved visiting her sisters in Texas.

Charlene never met a stranger and was extremely social. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and being together at family functions. She loved her dog, Greta.

Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Alyx Guadarrama (Aldo) of Lafayette; a son, Logan J. Maxwell of Delphi; twin sister, Darlene Kingery (Tim) of Delphi, sisters, Charlotte Calvert (Jim) of Magnolia, Texas, Marilyn J. Moore and Audrey S. Boles, both of Crowley, Texas; and a brother, Doyle E. Moore of Delphi.

She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Sid Boles.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. A private family memorial service will take place with the Rev. Tim Stewart officiating.
