Lauretta McCullough

Lauretta M. McCullough, 71, of Frankfort, formerly of the Walnut Grove comm unity, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette following a very sudden illness.

She was born Oct. 27, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Donald E. and Demmie-Ree (Smith) Carpenter. She was a 1964 graduate of Walnut Grove High School and later graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology and child development.

On May 21, 1972, she married the love of her life, David G. McCullough and they shared 46 years of marriage together.

Lauretta worked as a bank auditor at The Farmers Bank in Frankfort for 15 years. She also formerly worked at Fallen Timber Daycare in Ohio and Gettingsville Presbyterian Nursery School.

She was a member of Gettingsville Presbyterian Church, and also attended Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Master Gardener Club and the 49ers Extension Homemakers Club.

Lauretta loved to be outside - gardening, hiking, and traveling to many state parks with her husband. She also enjoyed reading. More than anything, Lauretta will be remembered for her love of her family and friends.

Lauretta’s family includes her husband of 46 years, David G. McCullough of Frankfort, and many extended family members and good friends.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

A memorial service celebrating Lauretta’s life was conducted Saturday, July 7, at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, rural Frankfort, with Lay Pastor Donna Enersen officiating.

Arrangements were entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Frankfort Salvation Army, Kokomo Rescue Mission, or the Walnut Grove Scholarship Fund.
