Madonna Burton

Madonna Burton, 85, of Flora, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center, Fla., surrounded by loving friends and family.

She was born June 30, 1932, in Frankfort, to Reid and Lena (Pullen) Burns. She was a 1950 graduate of Frankfort High School. In 1952, she married her late husband, Charles Lee Burton.

Madonna was a homemaker, sold Avon and helped her husband at the Carroll County Health Department. She was a member of Delta Theta Chi Sorority.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and yard work. She also enjoyed riding, raising, and showing horses which gave her the opportunity to meet Patrick Swayze and visit his house, one of her favorite memories.

Surviving are her son, Geoffrey Burton of Flora, and dear friends and caretakers, Gary and Shannon Rader of Delphi and their children.

Along with her parents and her husband of 60 years, she was preceded in death by a brother, George W. Burns, and a sister, Katie-Ann Burns.

Service was held Tuesday May 15, at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora with Pastor Todd Ladd officiating. Burial followed at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.
