An 18-point first quarter got the ball rolling for the Lady Oracle offense when they hosted Peru on Saturday. Despite allowing 48% shooting from the field from Peru, Delphi shot 5 for 10 from the three-point line and outrebounded the Tigers, 27-20 on their way to the 52-46 Oracle win.

A stagnant second quarter for the Oracles left the door open for Peru to keep it close. In the second half the home team found its groove, scoring

16 points in the third quarter and holding Peru to just 11 in the fourth.

Katherine Lang led all scorers with 17 points followed by Emily Jakes’ 14. Lillie Smith aided the Oracles with 8 points. Lang also led the team in rebounds with 6 while Jakes, Haley Nelson and Jordan Gasser all chipped in with 5 piece.

Delphi will be at Benton Central on Thursday for a 6 p.m. start followed by a home contest on the 18th against Tipton. The latter game will also tip at 6 o’clock.
