Lions Tractor/Truck Pull initiates new arena

An estimated crowd of 2,500 attended the 67th annual Camden Lions Tractor and Truck Pull at the new Carroll County Pull Arena, east of the fairgrounds in Flora. The pull arena is a project of the Flora Community Club (FCC). FCC president Laurie Brower attributed the success of Saturday’s event to “the tremendous following and reputation of the Camden Lions Club’s pulls.” She said many individuals, businesses and Lions Club members donated time and money to get the arena ready for the inaugural event. One of those individuals, Doug Suiter of Idaville, had the honor of being the first puller on the new track. The event drew pullers from as far away as South Dakota, Illinois and Michigan.
