County Council member chosen to be Treasurer

County courthouse shuffle continues

Rossetter Rossetter Carroll County Republican Precinct Committee Chairs met Aug. 1 to decide who will represent the party to fill the vacancy in the County Treasurer’s office since the departure of Beth Myers, who assumed the role of County Auditor last month. Two Party members, Scott Ayres and Melinda Gray Rossetter, both with County Council experience, submitted the appropriate paperwork to be considered for the position.

Rossetter was appointed by a majority of the vote. Rossetter was sworn into office Aug. 4 in the afternoon. Her appointment as Treasurer leaves an at-large vacancy on the County Council.

The third Republican caucus this year to fill an elected position will be held to replace Rossetter. According to a notification from Party Chair Beth Myers, Republicans will caucus to fill the County Council at-Large seat Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. at the Delphi VFW. Forms may be picked up at the Carroll County Clerk’s Office or from Myers at 3309W. CR900N., Delphi, IN 46923. Forms should be filed with Myers 72 hours before the caucus. Myers can be contacted at (765) 564-9676 with questions.

Myers advised one county resident, Ethan Brown, son of Commissioner Bill Brown, has submitted paperwork to be appointed to the position.
