Kokomo Rescue Mission announces Back-to-School give-away

Underwear, socks and shoes to qualified applicants

The new school year is just around the corner, and Kokomo Rescue Mission wants every student to experience the joy of receiving a new or gently used pair of school shoes, new undergarments, and personal care items to begin their year. The Kokomo Rescue Mission, in partnership with Crossroads Community Church and other area churches, invites income qualified members of the community to come “shop” for their K-12 students.

The Back-to-School Shop will be located in the Kokomo Rescue Mission’s Chapel starting Monday, July 17, through Friday, July 21, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Every qualified student will receive brand new shoes, socks, underwear and personal care items for the coming school year.

To qualify, applicants must bring photo ID, Social Security card or birth certificate, and birth dates of all schoolaged children in the household and proof of income. All children receiving assistance must be present. Call the Mission at 456-3838 or visit our events page at kokomorescuemission.org/events for more information.
