The Lady Oracles faced off against the Cougars Monday evening and it was back to business for Delphi. They took the lead with 5 early runs. The Cougars paced themselves back within striking distance with runs in both the first and second innings but their offensive game dried up from there.

Delphi poured on the hurt in the second inning when they drove in 4 more runs and took a 9-2 lead. Doubles from Katherine Lang and Rylee Lane were the early catalysts for the Oracles. Lang led the team with 3 hits and also chipped in with 3 RBI’s. Kayla Fogarsi led the team with 4 RBI’s.

The Cougars managed only 3 hits but played a clean game when they did not tally a single error in the 12-2 loss.

On the mound Delphi was led by Aspen Riley who took the win with 10 strikeouts while Carroll’s Hailey Atkisson struck out 6 batters.

After Monday, Carroll stands at 0-7 and Delphi moved to 7-2 after the rivalry victory.
