Everet J. Penn

Everet Jasper Penn, 99, of West Lafayette, formerly of the Carroll County area, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, June 2, 2016, in West Lafayette.

Everet was born to the late Otto Levi and Katurah Bridge Penn on Sept. 8, 1916, in Flora. He was raised in Carroll County, graduating from Rockfield High School in 1935. In 1939 he graduated from Indiana Technical College.

A World War II veteran, Everet served in the U.S. Navy.

His engineering degree took him to California where he worked for 31 years with Hewlett-Packard, retiring Dec. 31, 1984. During his time in California, he attended Pennisula Bible Church.

He was a member of AIEE (American Institute of Electrical Engineers)

There are no immediate survivors, except for a greatniece and great-nephew.

His sister, Eva M. Rifner, preceded him in death.

Graveside service was held Tuesday at Paint Creek Cemetery near Camden with the Rev. Rob Eyman officiating. Carroll County Honor Guard conducted military rites.
