Prospective Plantings Outlook luncheon to feature Purdue ag economists

Comet staff report

The Purdue University Extension Office in Carroll County and The Andersons will host the “Prospective Plantings Outlook” luncheon March 30 at The Andersons facility in Delphi. The event is from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m.

Purdue agricultural economists Dr. Chris Hurt and Dr. Corinne Alexander will be available by Webinar to help farmers and agribusinesses understand the annual U.S. Department of Agriculture Prospective Plantings and Grain Stocks report. The report is the first to indicate what U.S. farmers intend to plant. It has the potential to have a major impact on new crop prices as corn stocks continue to be extremely tight. The webinar will offer analysis and market strategies for producers heading into the 2012 crop season.

Reservations are needed for attendees. RSVP to The Andersons Account Representative Ben Stoller at (574) 737-2493. For information, contact Extension Agent Andrea Brown (765) 564-3169 or ahbrown@purdue.edu.
