Nine Cougar wrestlers competed in the final round of the Lafayette Jeff Sectional. The team finished in sixth place among 11 teams, higher than any previous Cougar squad in a sectional. The Cougars were led by fouryear varsity senior Kameron Casto (170) who qualified for the regional after recording a win by pin over Benton Central’s Jerry Conrad, finishing in third place.

Joining Casto will be senior Jarrid Robertson, a first year wrestler, and freshman Alex Switzer (120), as each qualified with fourth place finishes. Robertson started with a quick 49-second pin over West Side’s Brad Krause. Securing Regional alternate spots in fifth place were Bradley Leonard (138), Anthony Pickett (145) and Gavin Hancock (152). Brock Giddens (113), Nick Gamel (160) and Alex Plank (220) all placed sixth.
