Marilyn Starkson
Marilyn “Jean” Starkson, 77, of Camden, passed away at 5:03 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at Seton Specialty Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born in Fairfield, Iowa, on Aug. 21, 1934, to the late Guy R. and Nina Lyons Turner. She was a graduate of Birmingham Consolidated Schools in Birmingham, Iowa, and North Central Vocational Tech in Antigo, Wisc. She was married to Norman D. Starkson in Orlando, Fla., and he passed away on May 24, 1998.
Jean had worked at Fisher’s Restaurant in Flora as a cook for several years.
She is survived by her companion John E. Bulington; five children, Sherri Tradup (husband: Mark) of Tuscon, Ariz., Wallace E. Cox (wife: Deb) of Eldon, Iowa, Carol Porter of Frankfort, Wilson “Butch” Cox of Rochester, Minn., and Sheila J. Finley of Backus, Minn.; three stepsons, Scott Starkson (wife: Tresa) of Mayetta, Kan., Dan Starkson (wife: Marie) of Holton, Kan., and Wayne Starkson (wife: Kay) of Robinson, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, four sisters and three brothers.
No services are planned. Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, is assisting the family.
