Kathy Underwood Certain, 59, of Flora, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 1, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital in Lafayette.

   Born Dec. 11, 1952, in Roanoake, Va., she was the daughter of Lloyd H. and Mary Browning Underwood. She attended Lafayette Jefferson High School. On Nov. 9, 1973, in Lafayette, she married Claude Certain and he survives in Flora.

   Kathy was a homemaker who enjoyed collecting things.

   Surviving with her husband are two sons and two daughters, Diana Hicks (husband David) of Flora, William Certain (companion: Anna Hurst) of Wheeling, Shown Draper of Flora, and Ed Underwood (wife: Monica) of Bringhurst; four sisters, Gay Steinbaugh of Texas, Connie Sims (husband: Lee) of Lafayette, Nettie “Jo” Shoaf (husband: Oscar) of Delphi, and Claudine Edwards (husband: Dave) of Lafayette; one brother, Charles Edward Underwood (wife: Lou) of Lafayette; and 14 grandchildren.

   She was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.

   Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, with Ed Underwood officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
