Plans are underway by the Kiwanis Club of Flora to hold a Snowball Softball Tourney on March 2 at Flora Community Park.
The first annual event will be an opportunity to beat the wintertime blues by gathering friends, family and co-workers together for some fun.

Carroll Village, located on Columbia Street in Flora, accepted their first resident earlier this month. Their mission is to provide low-income subsidized housing in a safe and accessible environment.

A retired Carroll County businessman recently received a late payment of a bill. A woman had sent him a check for $31, explaining that she had just found the bill when she was sorting through some things. The bill had been sent in 1970 (17 years old). Better late than never!
The snowfall in January was 17 inches with the heaviest of 7 inches occurring on the 19th. Estimated percent of sunshine was 30 percent.

A temporary schedule for use of the swimming pool at Carroll High was announced and the first public swimming was allowed Monday evening.
Ten cents per person is charged for all persons in the evening hours to cover the cost of life guards.
Nylon swimming suits are recommended and all women must wear a bathing cap.
Approximately 300 Carroll County persons are holding expired driver’s licenses, according to records of the Carroll County Auto License Branch.

Barnard scored 20 points as Wheeling beat Cutler in basketball at Burlington Wednesday night.
Stockholders of the Bright National Bank met in their annual meeting for the election of directors for the ensuing year. Net earnings were very satisfactory, the report showing a surplus of $10,000 and undivided, profits in excess of $15,000.
Final stakes have been set in establishing the route for the new state road east and west through Camden. The road will be about 20 miles in length. It will connect with State Road 25 at the Milroy woods east of Delphi and cut across country to the Million farm where it connects with the old Camden gravel road.

Delphi Camp of the Modern Woodsman of America, composed of young businessmen of the city, will hold an indoor carnival in the rooms on Franklin street recently vacated by Grimm & Son. They promise four days and four nights of solid fun.
The Lockport bridge is in great danger on account of an ice gorge.
