Orem and Guckien families receive Hoosier Homestead Awards

Photo provided Two Carroll County families were honored recently with the Hoosier Homestead Award. They were among 72 Indiana families that were recognized for their rich agricultural heritage. The awards were presented by Lt. Governor Becky Skillman and Indiana Agriculture Director Joe Kelsay during a ceremony at the Indiana State Fair. The Guckien and Orem families were each honored for farms that have been in the same family for 100 years or more.
