Delphi parade details

   The July 2 Independence Day Parade, sponsored by the Delphi Lions Club, will begin at 10 a.m. Judging by Lions Club members will take place from 8 to 9:40 a.m. at the Globe Valve parking lot during line-up. Winners will be announced before the parade and awards will be presented at the downtown reviewing stand.
    Awards will be presented in the following categories: cars, tractors, animal group, walking group, and floats. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, appropriateness, crowd appeal, and demonstration of theme, “The American Spirit.”
    Any individual, group, business or club is encouraged to register. Dogs and other pets are not welcome. When decorating participants are asked to follow the theme.
    A memorial service will be held on the courthouse square beginning at 10. It will include an Honor Guard, Rifle Corps and Taps.
    The parade begins at the Globe Valve main building on Washington St. and will travel south toward downtown to Monroe St. It will go west on Monroe to Market St. and then south to Franklin St. The route turns east on Franklin St. past the reviewing stand across from the Carroll County Courthouse and to Indiana St., where it will turn north and return to the Globe Valve parking lot.
