Delphi boys and girls win 96th RMD

The Delphi boys and girls track and field teams had a good week - winning the 96th Annual RMD and finishing second in the Carroll-White County Championships.

Leading Delphi at the Carroll White County Championships were first place winners Carrington Wallace, 100-meter hurdles and pole vault; Ashley Dirbas, discus; girls’ 400-meter relay team of Payton Henderson, Taylor Saul, Karlee Sparks, and Chelsey Marcotte; Jesus Olivas, 300-meter hurdles; Jordan Wagner, high jump; Kevin Kauffman, 800-meter run; and boys’ 1600-meter relay team of Olivas, Jing Guo, Wagner, and Kauffan.

Runner-up finishes were: girls’ 3200-meter relay team of Grace Currie, Aneilya Carbaugh, Sparks, and Emily Layman; Mercede Martin, 300-meter hurdles; Tiahna Catron, 200-meter dash; girls’ 1600-meter relay team of Catron, Sparks, Kaley Saul, and Marcotte; Nick Zink, pole vault; boys’ 3200-meter relay team of Braden Kemp, Garrett Abbott, Ryan Leahy, and Kauffman; Olivas, 110 high hurdles; and Spencer Conner, 100-meter dash.

Freshman Sparks highlighted the evening by becoming the first female athlete to run in all three relay events in the same meet ever.

On Thursday, the Oracles traveled to Rensselaer for the 96th Annual RMD (Rensselaer, Monticello, Delphi). Both teams came away victorious.

Leading Delphi were: Triple winners - Emily Layman and Austin Coker; Double winners -Grace Currie, Payton Henderson, Taylor Saul, and Jesus Olivas; and Single winners - Jordan Wagner, Nick Zink, Braden Kemp, Garrett Abbott, Ryan Leahy, Nick Disinger, Sean Best, Spencer Conner, Jing Guo, Aneilya Carbaugh, Stacia Erwin, Carrington Wallace, Sparks, and Chelsey Marcotte.

Other good performances were recorded by Mercede Martin, Meagan Grace, Cody Miller, Adam Marvell, and Jade Frazer.
