Alliance 4 Advancement, West Central Indiana Region 4 Workforce Board in Lafayette has announced that more than 80 local elected officials from throughout Region 4 will attend a Sept. 10 Forum at the Wabash & Erie Canal Park to learn of new programs available to their communities.

Region 4 includes Carroll, Benton, Cass, Clinton, Fountain, Fulton, Howard, Miami, Montgomery, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Warren, and White counties

Two respected lecturers Larry DeBoer from Purdue University and Michael Hicks, director of Ball State’s Center for Business and Economic Research, will present the main program. Regional economic development officials and others will also highlight new programs within Region 4.

DeBoer will present “The Effect of the National, State and Regional Recession on Local Government Revenues, and State Aid for Schools.” Hicks will present “Economic Growth and Human Capital: 21st Century Issues for Indiana.”
