My appreciation to all those in Carroll County and the surrounding counties who kept me in their thoughts and prayers, those willing to donate a kidney for me, and above all, those who prayed for me. I was on the transplant list at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for five years, and on dialysis for just five days before receiving the call that a kidney had been located for me. I underwent a three-hour surgery on July 24. Reports to my family were that I was a very sick woman and there could be serious and critical complications. But as the days went by, my surgeon could not believe my progress; I was ahead of any patient he had ever had. He called me, “Wonder Woman.” I told him I had been praying for him, for all other surgeons, doctors and nurses. His comment to me was, “I just load the truck and He drives.” My recuperation is taking awhile, but that is to be expected. All the prayers, cards, phone calls and food were so very much appreciated, as was the support from Burlington Faith Church of Christ and Pastor Steve Cole. May the Lord continue to bless each one as He has me.
