Get the smartest card at the library
Delphi Public Library is encouraging residents to acquire a first-time library card or renew a current one during Library Card Sign-up Month in September.
Observed since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month is a time when the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country remind parents that a library card is the most important school supply of all.
Public library programming and books for children make a difference in the lives of students. By providing school-age children with engaging programs and amazing collections, students from all backgrounds become excited and enthusiastic readers.
The Delphi Public Library, offers all of their programs for free. Those interested may attend art classes, bring their toddlers to weekly story time, participate in monthly book clubs, enjoy live music at a monthly Coffee House, learn new skills and friendships through a monthly Fiber Arts Circle, view and discuss popular and topical films at a monthly Cinema Night, take one-on-one computer classes, test skills at Teen Game Night, research the family tree, enjoy live theatre performances or act in one and enjoy numerous other cultural and educational programs throughout the year.
To obtain a library card, bring in a picture ID and verification of a local address. Children under the age of eighteen must have a parent present to sign registration card.
For information, visit the library at 222 E. Main St., call (765) 564-2929 or go to carrollnet. org/dpl.
