Burlington First Brethren Church announces two events in August.

The first is a Block Party to be held Saturday, Aug. 14, for Burlington residents. It’s an opportunity for church members, friends, and neighbors to get to know one another better.

The party will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. on the church property across from the church building on Eighth Street.

There will be plenty of free food, games, and laughs. Bring a lawn chair, a friend, and even a coat for the church’s coat drive. (Coats will be given to folks in need during the church’s “Coat Give-A-Way” booth at the Burlington Fall Festival in September.

Church on the Lawn

The church’s Aug. 29 worship service will be a Church on the Lawn service at the same location as the Block Party. The service will begin at 10 a.m., with Dr. Peter Roussakis, pastor, speaking. Bring a lawn chair and a box lunch. All are welcome.
