Kenneth E. Deitrich, 80, of Logansport died at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010, at his residence.

Born Oct. 20, 1929, in Logansport, he was the son of Robert and Jessie Gertrude Soncarty Deitrich. His marriage was on March 22, 1953, at the Galveston Methodist Church, to Carole Sue Smith, who survives.

Mr. Deitrich was a farmer and a Korean War Army veteran.

He was a member of the Clymer’s United Methodist Church, Tipton Masonic Lodge #33, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Temple of Indianapolis, Logansport Shrine Club, Indiana Farm Bureau, Farm Bureau Credit Union Trustees, Elk’s Lodge #66, American Legion Post #60, Voiture #729 40 & 8, V.F.W. Post #3790 and the Clymer’s Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Sandra Heckard (husband: John) of Logansport and Beth Flagg (husband: Richard) of New Haven; a son, Duane Deitrich (wife: Theresa) of Logansport; three grandsons, Matthew Heckard (wife: Jessica) of Acton, Zachary Deitrich of Logansport, and Kyle Dubois of Lafayette; five granddaughters, Kimberly Pursch (husband: Jeff) of Noblesville, Baleigh Deitrich of Logansport, Brooklynn Nicoson (husband: Matt) of Zionsville, Erika Lynn Dubois of Evansville, and Jessica Dubois of Fort Wayne; three great-grandchildren, Makenzie Lynn, Alexander and Ruby; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was a brother, Ronald Deitrich.

Services were held Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home in Logansport. Pastor Kevin Drane officiated. Burial followed at St. John’s Cemetery in Logansport with full military rites.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Clymer’s Volunteer Fire Department or the Clymer’s United Methodist Church.
