The Carroll County Republican Party met at the Flora- Monroe Public Library on March 9. The meeting itinerary included discussion of an upcoming party event and a caucus date to fill recent city and county office vacancies.

The annual Carroll County GOP Lincoln Day Dinner will be April 16 at 6:30 p.m. State Representative Jackie Walorski, candidate for U.S. Congress, will be the featured speaker. The annual event will be held at the Wabash & Erie Canal Conference Center in Delphi. CWF

The CWF of the Delphi Christian Church met March 1 with Katie Cree as hostess.

Twelve members answered roll call by sharing a blessing.

Carolyn Edging presented the worship on how laughter is good for the soul.

Pat Curts gave the mission report from the Pembertons in Africa. They are looking for churches to be Prayer Partners.

The nominating committee is Pat Mulbarger and Winnie Beard.

Plans were made for Easter sunrise service on April 4.

Fairy Hackerd gave the lesson on fun things in the Bible.

The next meeting will be April 5 with Lee Nydegger and Cindy Newman as hostesses.

Tri Kappa

Tri Kappa met March 9 at Solomon’s Grille in Delphi for lunch and a short business meeting. There were 12 members in attendance.

The next meeting is scheduled for April 13.

Wednesday Forum

Members of Wednesday Forum met at the home of Alice Christian for their March meeting.

The program “Thoughts of a Passionate Reader” was presented by Martha Justice. Justice has been interested in reading from an early age. She gave a history of some of her favorites which include, “Arabian Nights,” “Daddy Long Legs,” “Pollyanna,” “Freckles,” “Little Women” and “David Copperfield.” She has kept a journal of the books, dates read and any impressions of the books.

Newer books recommended for reading were “Three Cups of Tea,” “Stones For Schools,” “Distant Lands” and “Small Miracles.”
