Waneta L. Gray

Waneta Louise (Short) Gray, 83 years young, flew home to be with the Lord, Sunday March 7, 2010, at Mesa Ariz.

She was born on July 4, 1926, in Frankfort, the daughter of Paul and Roberta (Miller) Short. She married Gilbert Gray on Nov. 17, 1944, in Gettingsville, and he survives.

Mrs. Gray enjoyed traveling, and had many crafts and hobbies.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron for four years.

She was a loving mother to three children, Deb Dance (Jim), Mac Gray (Jan), and Cindi Mast (Max), all of Cutler; a doting grandma to seven grandchildren, Calin Gray and Kelly Gray, both of Cutler, Kari Gray and Kevin Hamilton, both of Indianapolis. Kyle Hamilton (Carrie), Flora, Karly Wiles, Greenwood, and Kinsey Price, Lafayette; four stepgrandchildren, Jeremy Mast, Indianapolis, Josh Mast, Kokomo, Medea Cook, Mississippi, and Mariah Dance, Greentown; eight greatgrandchildren. Ty Gray, Cutler, Garrett Cook, Gavin Cook and Gaden Cook, all of Mississippi, Madison Dance, Logan Soderlund and Lucia Soderlund, all of Greentown; and one sister, Maxine Barnard of Fort Myers, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack Short and Joe Short.

Stout and Son Funeral Home of Burlington are in charge of arrangements.
