Beulah M. Pence

Beulah Maxine Pence, 88, of Greencastle and a former Frankfort resident, passed away peacefully at 3:13 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Asbury Towers surrounded by family and loved ones.

Born Jan. 2, 1922, in Aurora, she was the daughter of Irwin A. and Edna Reed Payne. Her marriage was on May 25, 1941, in Frankfort, to Harold C. Pence, who preceded her in death on June 16, 1983.

Mrs. Pence was a member of the First Baptist Church in Frankfort.

She worked at Harmesons and Jules Simon in Frankfort.

Surviving are a son, Harold C. Pence (wife: Exie) of Frankfort; two daughters, Rita Pauline Ferguson (husband: Joe) of Greencastle and Mary Marlene Spangle (husband: Don) of Flora; four sisters, Inez Pence of Frankfort, Charlene Birden of Michigantown, Helen Ray of Lafayette, and Emmaline Staley of Raeford, N.C.; two brothers, Irwin Payne of Ocala, Fla., and William Payne of Lafayette; five grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren.

Preceding her in death were three brothers, Douglas, David and Don Payne.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Charles Williams and the Rev. Steve Williams will officiate. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Frankfort. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
