Barbara Douglass, 84, formerly of West Lafayette, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Milner Community Healthcare Center in Rossville.

Born July 22, 1925, in Howard County, she was the daughter of Milton L. and Beulah Norton Frey. Her marriage was in 1976 in Rossville to Jack D. Douglass, who survives.

Mrs. Douglass was a 1943 graduate of Kokomo High School and a 1948 graduate of Butler University. She also attended University of Washington in Seattle and Northwestern.

She was a member of the Flora Presbyterian Church, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and Alpha Gamma Delta teaching sorority.

Mrs. Douglass was an elementary school teacher who taught at the Delphi Community Schools and the Indianapolis Public Schools. She retired while teaching at Carroll Consolidated Schools.

Surviving is a nephew, William Brooks Frey M.D. of Sherman, Texas.

Preceding her in death was one brother.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
