DCMS swimmers set records
The Delphi Community Middle School swim team ran its season record to 4 and 1 with wins over Harrison, South Newton and Twin Lakes.
Thursday against Twin Lakes the 200 Medley Relay team of Cameron Burns, Tanner Vaknin, Emma Carpenter and Elliott Murphy took first place in 2:09.02, breaking the school record of 2:09.85 held by Brent Kremer, Jared Kelley, Andrew Burton and Keaton Garrison.
Burns also set the 100 IM record with a time of 1:06.23 that replaces Kelley’s 1:11.53. Burns won the 100 IM and 100 backstroke while Murphy won diving.
Early in the week in a three-way meet with Harrison and South Newton, Trevor Peters won the 200 and 400 freestyle events, Dakota Smart took diving, Carpenter won the 100 freestyle as did the 200 freestyle relay team of Haley Sales, Kevin Matricia, Mathew Randle and Jack Gillam.
