The 2nd annual “Basketball Legends of Delphi” alumni game held at the DCHS gym prior to Saturday night’s game against Pioneer raised funds for scholarships.

This year’s event drew 38 game participants, up from 26 last year, while several other alumni joined a contingent of fans and spectators for the festivities.

Among the participants were Delphi’s all-time leading scorer Pat Manahan from the Class of 1973 and former Purdue player Dr. Tim Fisher from the Class of 1983, along with two-time Sectional-winning girls’ basketball coach from the 1994-96 seasons Jeff Gher. Gher, now of Indianapolis, served as an honorary coach.

For the second straight year, the team from the odd-graduating years won the contest, prevailing 114- 83.

Rockney Alting led all scorers for the second straight year with 23 points, while Tim Snoeberger added 13 and Josh Strasser 10 for the winning team. Kyle Wagner threw in 12, along with current WLFI-TV 18 news anchorman Joe LePage with 10 led the even-year team.
