The Almost Spring Book Sale is tomorrow (Thursday) through Saturday during normal operating hours.

Do you have any overdue materials or nagging late dues? During Return the Borrowed Books Week, March 1- 7, patrons of the Flora Library have the opportunity to return any borrowed books (that haven’t gone to collection) and have the fines forgiven. Free-will donations of non-perishable goods in exchange for the forgiveness of fines are welcome and will be donated to the Carroll County Food Pantry.

There are several new displays of art in the program room. Third grade students created textures in textiles by creating their own original designs featuring paisley, plaid and camouflage.

The fourth and fifth grade students painted monochromatic clotheslines inspired by the Amish. They also created watercolors of bedrooms in three dimension featuring the painting style of Leonardo Da Vinci and other Renaissance artists.

The theme for the next storytime will be “Dr. Seuss.” Children in Flora will join millions of their peers across the country to celebrate the National Education Association’s annual Read Across America Day, celebrated on March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss’s (Theodore Geisel).

To honor the good doctor and celebrate the fun and value of reading, parents and caregivers can bring their children to the library to be entertained by classic Dr. Seuss stories and characters. Storytime is Tuesday at 10 a.m.
