Banter announces candidacy

Banter Banter Timothy Banter Jr. (D) of rural Cass County has filed with the Secretary of State’s Office to run for the office of State Representative District 24, comprising Cass, Carroll and portions of Miami and White counties.

Banter, a graduate student of Indiana University Kokomo’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs, ran as the Democratic candidate in 2008.

Before becoming a candidate for office in 2008, Banter was a field organizer for then Senator Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign during the Indiana primary. Before working for Clinton, he worked for two Indiana state agencies.

Banter is also a graduate of Purdue University with Bachelor’s degrees in political science and social studies secondary education.

It was incorrectly reported in the Feb. 17 issue of the Comet that Banter was seeking re-election.
