Swimmers break school record

The Delphi Community High School girls 200 medley relay team competed Feb. 4 at the sectional hosted by Lafayette Jefferson High School. Photo provided At Thursday’s sectional preliminaries, the Oracle girls 200 medley relay team broke the school record. Annie Mose, Jordan Hudelson, Brianna Walters and Emily Layman set the new mark of 2:05.85.

The previous record was held by Lydia Smith, Brittaney Mauer, Shannon Kremer and Mara Burton and was set in 2006.

Hudelson’s mother, Patti Draper Hudelson, was a part of the 200 medley relay team that held the record from 1987 to 2006.

Saturday at the finals Delphi placed ninth overall. Placing in the top 12 were: Walters, 200 IM and 100 butterfly; Mose, 500 free and 100 backstroke; Layman, 50 free; Hudelson, 100 butterfly; and Laine Rader, 100 breaststroke.
