Dolence and Hyman The January Cougar of the Month award went to fifth grade teacher Mike Hyman. He was nominated by Emlyn Dolence. Her letter read in part, “He is a great guy! One day I got a brag award… I was speechless. He is a great math teacher. He is so funny, sweet and is serious when needed….”

The Cougar of the Month program is designed to encourage youth to nominate a Carroll Elementary staff member for recognition. One letter, written by the student, is selected each month. Both student and teacher are recognized and receive a gift from PTO for being selected.
