One of the Midwest’s largest cooperative partnerships has recently announced year-end results and returned patronage checks to members.
C0-ALLIANCE LLP reported total sales of more than $820 million, and achieved net income after taxes of over $8.1 million for year-end August 31, 2009.
Co-Alliance is a partnership of five partnering cooperatives: Midland Co-op, IMPACT Cooperative, La- Porte County Co-op, Frontier Co-op and Excel Co-op. Every year, regional annual meetings are held for members of each respective local business.
More than $1.4 million in patronage is being paid to growers this year based on corn and beans delivered to Co-Alliance elevators, with half of that amount in cash and half in equity. In addition, more than $1 million has been set aside to redeem the equity held by the longest standing shareholders within the Co-Alliance partnership. Those checks will mail in the spring.
