Flora-Monroe Twp.

During the cold winter nights there is nothing like curling up with a mug of hot cocoa and a good book. You’re on your own for the chocolate, but as of this week, the Flora Library has another reason to stop by for the book.

“Hot Reads for Cold Nights!” is the theme for the library’s 2010 adult winter reading program. In addition to being able to read a lot of great books, for the next six weeks you can earn prizes doing it.

Register at the main desk anytime during the program to get your reading log and your first reward, a coupon for any item in the library’s coffee shop. The adult winter reading program runs through Feb. 27.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and the library has a sweet night planned for you. Join us at the Porcupine Truffle on Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. for a fun “Make It and Take It!” event. We can’t tell you what you will be making because it’s a secret, but it will be edible and decadent!

Don’t forget to check out our annual magazine giveaway while you sign up for winter reading. The magazines are free and cover a variety of genres.

The magazine giveaway and the “Make It and Take It!” events are both part of the library’s “Hot Reads for Cold Nights!” program.

The theme for the next storytime is “Mittens.” Preschool storytime meets Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.
