Heber named to All-Tournament team

Matt Heber Matt Heber Delphi junior Matt Heber led the Tippecanoe Tornados Homeschool varsity boy’s team (14-7) to a 2ndplace finish at the 5th Annual AOC Holiday Classic in Arthur, Ill., on Dec. 28- 29. He was selected to the All-Tournament team and was runner-up for MVP.

The tournament consisted of 12 Christian school teams from Illinois and two homeschool teams from Indiana. The Tornados beat Sterling Christian (4-3) 50- 41, North County Christian (6-0) 67-45 and Northwest Christian (7-2) 49-43 before losing to Arthur-Okaw 38-65.

Heber averaged 23 points per game and shot 37.5% (9-24) from beyond the arc, and 46% overall. He also finished in the top 5 of the tournament’s 3-point contest where he advanced to the semifinals.

His 30-point game in the North County game was a career high effort and he repeated it against Northwest. Heber also reached career milestones of 1500 points, 1000 rebounds and 300 blocks at the Classic.
