At the recent 73rd annual conference of the Indiana Water Environment Association, the 2009 Collection System Award for a Small Facility was presented to the TWIN LAKES REGIONAL SEWER DISTRICT (TLRSD).

According to the award documentation, “As a result of the new sewers the threat of drinking water contamination and lake pollution has been greatly reduced, property values have increased. The overwhelming conclusion is that the TLRSD collection system and treatment facilities have enhanced the public health, safety, and welfare.”

The documentation also states that “the TLRSD has established an excellent service record for prompt response to service calls by its staff.”

“The award just goes to show that our hard work is paying off and that what we have achieved benefits the entire community,” said Wayne Garrison, president of the TLRSD’s Board of Trustees.

The Indiana Water Environment Association is affiliated with Water Environment Federation, a national organization with over 35,000 members and 75 affiliated associations. Its primary goal is to educate and train water quality professionals in the latest technology in water management to preserve and enhance the global water environment.
