H1N1 clinics are being held at the Carroll County Health Department on Thursdays and Fridays. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome. The office is closed from 1 to 2 p.m. for lunch.

This week, Jan. 10-16, is National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW). The NIVW was established to highlight the importance of continuing influenza vaccination, as well as fostering greater use of flu vaccine after the holiday season. Influenza is unpredictable and the Center for Disease Control does not know the likelihood of a future wave of 2009 H1N1 influenza, but does know that vaccination is the single best way to reduce the health impact of influenza.
