Pd. Photo A surprise 60th wedding celebration was given for Ralph & Joyce Sparks of Flora by their children at a family reunion in Winamac in October. The surprise included the reciting of humorous vows performed by their son, and an old-fashion “belling” on the back of a hay wagon, complete with tin cans.

“Sparky” and the former Joyce Lee Zook were married Christmas Eve 1949.

Sparks was sole proprietor of R.L. Sparks Electric and together they owned and operated the J-Ann Shop in Flora for 42 years.

The couple has two children, Teresa Hodgdon (husband: Matt) of Atlanta, Ga., and Brad Sparks (wife: Lisa) of Indianapolis, and four grandchildren.
