Richardson sets new swim, invitational records

Carroll swimmers had an outstanding day at the recent Maconaquah Invitational.

Senior Brock Richardson broke two school records dating back to 1966. He set the new marks in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.72, and in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.01. Both record times were also invitational records and first place finishes.

Thirteen Carroll swimmers recorded 21 personal best times. Isiah Stevens also won first place in the 100 backstroke. His time was 52.69.

As a team the Cougars placed second out of four teams, their highest finish ever. Placings were: Maconaquah 1st, Carroll 2nd, Lewis Cass 3rd, and Tipton 4th.
