Local artist’s creation chosen to represent Carroll County
Bell hanging on Indiana State Museum Christmas tree
Over the past two years, the Indiana State Museum has contacted the Historical Society of each county to provide a handmade ornament that would best represent their county. The museum is displaying the pride of each county with a special-made ornament on the 92-County Tree at this year’s “Celebration Crossing.”
Artisan Carol Oliver of Delphi created a bisque bell ornament to represent Carroll County. The ornament features three Carroll County scenes painted with sprays of pinecones and embellished with gold, dividing the images. Images depicted are Adams Mill, Lancaster Covered Bridge and Burnett’s Creek Arch.
Oliver has been a professional artist for many years and has won several awards at both the local and state levels. Her artwork has received commissions from over 30 states and five countries.
